Greetings everyone and welcome to the LOMA Society of Greater New York's website.
My name is Marlon Fearon, Claims Expert & Vice President at Swiss Re Life & Health America Inc. (Swiss Re). I have been with Swiss Re since 1989 and celebrated my 25th anniversary in 2014. I became a member of the LOMA Society in 2008, since then the society has been a great opportunity to grow professionally, to network with colleagues as well as to make new friends. I look forward to my first year as president and embrace the challenges ahead. I served as Vice President of the society in 2013 & 2014 and prior to that chaired the Strategy Committee for two years.
Please accept my gratitude for being elected as your LOMA Society of Greater New York President for 2015 - 2016; it is a humbling experience to be given the responsibility in continuing the legacy of one of our charter member, Walter J. Leonard. He was a visionary who saw the need for continuous education when he helped form the FLMI Society of Greater New York in 1943.
The LOMA Society of Greater New York (LOMAGNY) is a non-profit professional, career development and educational organization serving insurance and financial industry professionals in the Greater New York Area. LOMAGNY is the oldest Society affiliated with the LOMA organization based in Atlanta, Georgia.
I thank each and every one of the Past Presidents, especially those who gave me that initial push. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank our immediate Past President, Elaine Rogers for her leadership and contributions during her tenure. I look forward to her input this year, as well as guidance from the entire Board of Directors.
In addition, I am grateful to my employer, Swiss Re. Without the support of Swiss Re and my managers throughout the years, my involvement in this great organization would not have been possible.
